Your Crystal Ski Holidays booking for Winter 2020/21 automatically includes our COVID Cover, so you can amend your holiday for free if you contract COVID-19 or are officially told to quarantine before you’re due to go.

COVID Cover also includes our new Holiday to Home insurance policy with AXA Insurance UK Plc, which is explained below. Please note that this is a very specific type of cover and is not a substitute for standard winter sports travel insurance.

‘Holiday to Home’ terms & conditions

Holiday to Home cover applies to everyone on your booking and is automatically included free of charge.

It covers the cost of overseas medical assistance related directly to contracting COVID-19 only, including testing for suspected COVID-19 if required, and medical assistance if you contract COVID-19 while on holiday. You’ll also have access to an English-speaking doctor 24 hours a day via the Doctor Please! telemedicine app.

If you contract COVID-19 and the rest of your party has to quarantine, their COVID Cover will cover them for any extended stay too.

COVID Cover is not a replacement for standard travel insurance so you should still take out independent winter sports travel insurance for your Crystal holiday.

What is the Holiday to Home cover?


Holiday to Home is an insurance policy underwritten by AXA Partners UK Plc, and is part of our COVID Cover for Winter 2020/21. COVID Cover is a package of benefits provided by Crystal that includes free amends if you contract COVID-19 before your holiday.

How much does COVID Cover cost? Will my holiday cost more?


There’s no extra cost for COVID Cover – it’s automatically provided free of charge for everyone going on holiday with us in Winter 2020/21, to give you added protection and peace of mind.

Just remember to take out standard winter sports travel insurance too, as the Holiday to Home policy and COVID Cover are not a replacement for it.

What exactly does it cover?


The Holiday to Home insurance policy, which is part of our COVID Cover, is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK Plc and includes:
• Overseas testing for suspected cases of COVID-19
• Overseas medical assistance if you contract COVID-19 while you’re away

Will the Holiday to Home policy meet all of my medical expenses if I become ill on holiday?


Holiday to Home will cover the cost of overseas medical assistance if you contract COVID-19 while on holiday, up to £150,000. It doesn’t cover medical costs not associated with coronavirus. To cover other aspects of your ski holiday, like winter sports activities, cancellation and baggage, you should take out a standard winter sports travel insurance policy. Do I still need travel insurance?


Yes, Holiday to Home is not a replacement for standard winter sports travel insurance. The Holiday to Home policy will cover you for costs incurred if you contract COVID-19 while on holiday, like testing, medical assistance and, if required, an extended stay or repatriation home. You should still take out winter sports travel insurance to cover other aspects of your holiday, like winter sports activities, cancellation, baggage and other medical conditions or accidents.

Will my family be able to stay with me if I become ill?


Everyone who travels with us in Winter 2020/21 is automatically covered by the Holiday to Home policy. So if you become ill and the rest of your party has to quarantine, they’ll be insured for an extended stay too. Our team will be there to support and advise you on the procedures for the destination you’re in.

If I do become ill, will I quarantine in my accommodation?


If you contract COVID-19 on holiday, you’ll be asked to follow the procedures in your specific accommodation and destination. These may vary, but the accommodation staff will be there to support you. And you’ll have 24/7 access to a dedicated emergency hotline and app.

What will happen if I need to go to hospital? Will all the costs be covered?
