Not only are the slopes gentle and the instructors friendly, but the Lake Louise ski school offers beginners a guarantee that if you're not skiing by the end of your first day, you'll get an additional lesson free of charge.
With Louise's four massive mountain faces to explore, intermediate skiers will have the time of their lives. There's everything from smooth cruising runs in the Larch area to the challenge of the back bowls and the big bumps on Ptarmigan and Raven - fantastic to ski as a mixed ability group.
Rocky Mountain powder, 'Steep'n'deep', giant bumps or endlessly smooth, stylish cruising - Lake Louise has it all, and lots of it. The huge back bowls are world-renowned, there are World Cup downhill runs to enjoy and, as waiting at lifts is virtually unheard of, there's more time to spend skiing this spectacular area.
Lake Louise has plenty of beween-the-piste opportunities for you to get stuck into. The backside bowls also have tough challenges, which may include vertical runs - they're challenge, but highly rewarding, especially on powder days. Across the way, on Mount Norquay, you can find amazing off-piste thanks to huge amounts of snowfall and high tree lines which, in turn, create some fantastic tree routes for the more experienced skiers - definitely try the Long Pine run. Lastly, Sunshine's Delirium Drive and Wild West backcountry areas (accessed at an entry gate that's manned by a snow patroller) have steep chutes and varied terrain.
