    CHALETS FOR 2020/21

Sadly, due to the current climate, we’re sorry to confirm that we’re not able to operate our chalet programme this winter. We apologise to our customers for any disappointment this decision causes.

This winter, if you’re looking for those chalet-style experiences that we know make a ski holiday special, we suggest booking a self-catering apartment instead. Like chalets, apartments come in all different sizes and are particularly good for smaller groups and families. And just like in a chalet, you’ll have space to spread out and spend time together – whether you’re cooking an evening meal, playing board games or just chatting about the day’s ski adventures. Lots of apartment buildings have a supermarket on site to make stocking up easy, and many also offer a bakery delivery service or upgrades to bed and breakfast or half board so you can still skip the cooking if you want to.

Or choose a half-board hotel to get your breakfast and evening meal included as standard. Some will even have afternoon tea and snacks waiting for you when you get back from skiing, just like you’d get in a chalet.

    The Chalet Experience

Sit back, settle in and cosy up to a catered chalet holiday.

Known for their social and easygoing atmosphere, chalets are perfect for spending quality time and ski chats with friends old and new.

We've got Crystal chalets in some of Europe's most popular resorts, each offering you a true mountain experience, bundled up with some of the creature comforts of home and your own chalet host on hand so you can focus on skiing and relaxing.

What's included in a catered ski chalet?

All our holidays include flights and transfers.

Our catered chalet holidays also include breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea on 6 days of your stay, all prepared by your chalet host. There's always a cooked option at breakfast and afternoon tea comes with homemade cake or biscuits. In the evening, everyone sits down together for a relaxed, social meal. This is made up of canapés and sparkling wine, followed by 3 courses – starter, main and dessert – and after-dinner chocolates and coffee. Early suppers are available for children on request and adults' evening meals come with bottled house wine which is free-flowing until coffee is served.

Full catering isn't included on your chalet host's day off, but a continental breakfast will be left out for you and your chalet host will be able to recommend some local restaurants for lunch and dinner. You won't be able to use the kitchen in the chalet.

Are there different types of catered chalets?

Yes. Many are single chalets, where communal areas are shared with other guests in your chalet – which will be people from your group and also fellow Crystal guests, unless you've booked out a whole chalet.

We also have some chalet options that are part of a larger chalet complex with some facilities like spas and swimming pools shared with other chalets. In these chalets, bathrobes and slippers are included in the bedrooms.

How many people do Crystal chalets sleep?

We've got lots of chalets of different sizes, sleeping anywhere between 6 and 34 people.

Can I book a whole chalet for my group?

Absolutely. There are two ways to book a chalet with friends. You can either take a whole chalet just for your group, or book a spot in a larger chalet and stay with like-minded snow-seekers. You'll be sharing tales of pistes, powder and tomorrow's plans over a glass of wine in no time.

Do you cater for all dietary requirements?

We can cater for vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free or gluten-free diets at no extra cost. We may be able to cater for other dietary requirements, though there could be an extra charge. Please let us know about any dietary requirements and allergies when you book your holidays.

    Will my chalet have WiFi?

Yes. There's WiFi throughout our chalets and it's always free. So you can share your ski snaps online, while they're fresh off the slopes.

    Are chalets suitable for families?

Yes, lots of them are great for families. There's plenty to think about when you take the kids skiing and a catered chalet can help you relax, because it'll have shared areas and your meals are sorted too.

All of our chalets, excluding Chalet Alberta and Chalet Ontario in Val d'Isère, can be booked for families throughout the season.

What time are evening meals served?

Evening meals are normally served around 7.30pm.

Can I request an early evening meal for my child if there are no other children staying in the chalet?

What's it like to stay in a chalet over Christmas and New Year?

Our chalets get festive around Christmas and New Year, with Christmas decorations, trees and a little added sparkle to your mealtimes. There's mulled wine and mince pies on Christmas Eve and a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings on Christmas Day. On New Year's Eve, your host will throw a gala dinner and we'll bring out the fizz at midnight.
