Latest from the London Ski Show – Friday 22nd October

Husky Dogs at the Quebec Canada standToday was the third day of the London Ski & Snowboard Show – and what a day it was!

This year’s show has so much on offer and there’s certainly a busy weekend in prospect. There are some great deals on all things ski and snowboard related from the latest clothing ranges (Trespass and Oakley to name just two), boards, skis and other equipment, as well as fantastic value ski holidays and trips for this winter. I was lucky enough to spend the day at the show and here’s a breakdown of my highlights:

The 15m indoor jump

As soon as you walk into the Grand Hall you can’t fail to miss the massive indoor jump. Throughout the day there were some of the UK’s best freestyle riders with the competition, at around 4pm, displaying some fantastic jumps and tricks from the likes of Paddy Graham, Murray Bucham, James Woods (Woodsy) and James Webb.

The huskies & maple taffy at the Quebec Canada stand

This had to be the busiest stand throughout the day (centre left as you walk in the main entrance). Most of the staff were French Canadian adding to what was already a great experience. As the queues of people lined up for their photos with the huskies they were treated to maple taffy (maple syrup and ice) – which went down well with just about everyone.

Deals, deals, deals…

Whether you hit the slopes once a year or spend most of your time in the winter months searching for powder, there’s everything you could possibly want and more. There’s a good balance between the big brands (with massive stands) and more niche, less well known brands – catering for every taste.

Walking around the show it was obvious that visitors were taking advantage of the show’s exclusive prices (Crystal’s own specials were proving popular – if you’re going be sure to take a look)  – as well as the numerous competitions to win everything from the latest ski gear to a week’s free holiday (Quebec , Canada stand).

You can still buy tickets for this weekend and get more information from the official London Ski & Snowboard website.

If you do get the chance to go this weekend – have a great time.
