First family ski holiday

Steaming hot chocolates, snowball fights and ski school stories … everyone remembers their first family ski holiday. We sent the Wing family to Passo Tonale for first ski lessons, fresh snowfall and family time on the mountain. Here are their best shots.

“Hats, gloves and lots of layers – zipped up in our winter warms and ready for our first day on the slopes.”
“Everything’s an adventure when you’re 8 and 6. The boys made learning to ski look so easy!”
“Sneaking off to our favourite deck chairs while the kids are in ski school. Goggle tans, activate.”
“Polishing my snowplough turns, to snake down a blue run. Slow and steady wins the race.”
We made it! Finally off the bunny slopes and up in a chairlift for our first ski together.”
“A week of laughter, quality time and learning something new together in the fresh air – with hardly a screen in sight. What’s not to love?”

Grand Hotel Paradiso

Grand Hotel Paradiso, Passo Tonale

  • Virtually ski-in, ski-out
  • Trampolines, soft play and games
  • Swimming pool and wellness centre

The Wings stayed in the Grand Hotel Paradiso in the beginner and intermediate resort of Passo Tonale in Italy. It’s an easy pick for families, with lots going on and plenty of room types in different shapes and sizes. The hotel’s location is just right if you’re all learning to ski together, because you can step straight out onto gentle slopes, with the ski school a short, flat walk away. Our own Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club are based in the hotel too, so there’s no need to walk around with little skis in the mornings.
