Everyone knows Bulgaria for being cheap, but it’s so much more than just a £1 a pint destination. If you’re learning to ski, then resorts like Borovets and Pamporovo just can’t be beaten.
Quality Hotels – from budget to luxury
The standard of hotels is excellent, with the majority being new or recently renovated. Hotels like the Kempinski and Premier Luxury Mountain Resort in Bansko are two luxury hotels but without the huge price tag you’d find in other resorts.

Luxury hotels in Bansko
Apres ski
A big part of a holiday in Bulgaria is knowing it won’t break the bank – not only do you get great value half board hotels, but drinking out is super cheap. In Bansko you’ll pay around £1.50 a pint, in Borovets and Pamporovo you’ll pay little over £1 – can’t argue with that.
Learn to Ski or Snowboard
Pamporovo and Borovets came 1st and 2nd for Adult Ski School in our recent Crystal Awards – that’s out of all the 150 resorts we feature, and the awards are voted for by our customers. If you want to learn to ski, these resorts are designed for you, with a ski school that specialises in beginner skiing. And you don’t have to pay big money to learn with affordable packages including lift passes, lesson and ski rental for 6 days.
Families
It’s not just adults that have all the fun – Bulgaria is perfect for families with ‘ski kindergarten’ for the little ones and Learn to Ski packages for older kids. There’s some great accommodation for families like the Rila Apartments, which have family rooms and a vast amount of facilities for kids. Plus, it’s right next to the ski school.
