Beginners will learn the ropes on their skis or board on the nursery slopes near the Burz chairlift. However, there aren't too many gentle runs to progress to nearby. Corvara may be a better pick for absolute beginners.
Access to the Sella Ronda circuit and the rest of the Dolomiti Superski means that intermediates have an incredible range of slopes at their fingertips. The local slopes are equally suitable, with many being challenging enough for keen intermediates, or for less confident skiers, the nearby Alta Badia has an ideal range of slopes to get practising on.
The local slopes of Arabba don't offer a lot of mileage, but head over to the Sella Ronda and you'll have some pretty steep sections to master. And Arabba has easy access to the Marmolada glacier, with its north-facing black runs at high altitude. If you want to explore further, the easy access to the Dolomiti Superski offers an incredible range of off-piste and as well as testing red and black runs.
Renowned for its heli-skiing and off-pisting, the Marmolada Glacier, offering skiing up to 3,200m above sea level, is a haven for skiers and riders looking for an extra challenge. Filled with predominantly red and black runs, the highest mountain in the Dolomites, also known as the 'Queen of the Dolomites', is a pretty big deal. There's even a 12km long slope called La Bellunese, for those Mile Munchers out there.
