Fun for all ages both on and off the slopes in Austria's largest family ski area.
- Stop at the Z1 platform up at 2,600m, to see breathtaking views of the mountains across the Tyrol, Germany and Italy.
- Look out for regular celebrations like Nightflow and Adventure Night, with projection shows, ski demos, music and fireworks.
- Kids will love the Kinderscheealm, a 45,000m² area with themed courses, practise lifts, restaurants and relaxtion areas for parents.
It’s not all about the families though. Serfaus shares its 198km of piste, spread over a series of sunny, open bowls, with the two neighbouring towns, Fiss and Ladis. Intermediates will love the 123km of reds and the range of fun slopes. Meanwhile, beginners can build skills on the wide green and blue runs, and experts have some excellent black runs and off-piste to explore. Plus, the fact that the resort sits up at 1,620m means that the snow coverage is usually excellent all season long.
The town itself is special, too. The centre is pedestrianised and comes complete with Tyrolean staples like a pretty church and wooden, chalet-style buildings. A more unique addition is the Dorfbahn, an underground hover train (and the second shortest subway in the world) that lets you travel around town without braving the snowy streets.
There’s plenty to keep you busy out of your skis too. Don’t miss the Skyswing – a giant, 8-person swing – or the Fisser Flieger – a 4-person hang glider that flies down a wire at 80km/h. There’s also a 1.5km long toboggan track through the trees and a zipline that lets you soar 85m above the resort. If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, visit the Z1 viewing platform and the Crystal Cube, perched on the edge of the peak, or simply relax in one of the Feelgood areas on the slopes, each with hammocks, lounge chairs and awesome views.
