Almhotel Kärntenin , Austria
So what's it like?
Conveniently located on the side of the slopes, you’ll be out skiing in no time each day. Or sit back by one of the large panoramic windows and watch the skiers and snowboarders pass by, because this hotel is great for the views. The Gartnerkofelbahn lift is less than 150m away and can be skied to right from the hotel. Inside the Almhotel Kärnten, whilst fresh and modern, it has a friendly warmth and homely atmosphere.
The stand-out feature here is the small but perfectly formed spa and wellness area. After a day on the mountain, relax your muscles in the bio and Finnish sauna. And sit back in the relaxation room with panoramic views onto the piste. And while the sun is out, head to the sun terrace to catch some rays.
The stylish and contemporary rooms are spacious and airy with comfortable beds, en-suite facilities and stunning mountain scenery. As you’d expect from an Austrian mountain hotel, lots of natural wood furniture adds a touch of alpine forest to each of the rooms. Sizes range from 20m2 for two people up to a family room at 35m2 for a family of four. And if you want to breathe in the fresh mountain air, look out for a room with a balcony.
Delicious meals are served in the bright and airy hotel restaurant, looking out onto the piste. Start the morning with a substantial buffet breakfast with both hot and cold options and there’s even a health corner. The 4-course evening meals are a collection of international dishes alongside local specialities, all home-cooked and prepared using light and healthy ingredients.

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head-to-head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.
Cots are available to hire, free of charge, on request.
