Seven world class ski areas to choose from & a diverse nightlife too
Lake Tahoe offers an amazing 17,000 acres of skiable terrain, 535 runs and 20 terrain parks all on the same lift pass. If that's not enough they also boast an average of 36 feet of snow and over 300 days of sunshine every season. Heavenly, on the south shore, has stunning lake views and diverse night life with the village split between laid back California and the neon lights and the 24-hour excitement of Nevada. Squaw in the north has an intimate village with unrivalled ski terrain.
Ski information
Beginners
The Californians' friendly hospitality is legendary and if you want to learn to ski in a fun atmosphere, then either Heavenly or Sierra at Tahoe are great places to start.
Intermediates
An unforgettable day out from Heavenly takes you by ski shuttle bus to the world class Olympic resort of Squaw Valley and then back at the end of the day on the Tahoe Queen Paddle wheeler across the lake.
Advanced
There is plenty at Heavenly designed to keep advanced skiers happy and Kirkwood and Squaw Valley also have some spectacularly challenging skiing. Try the Gunbarrel on the Californian side of Heavenly for a chance to show off under the chairlift.

The pace is lively and the choice varied with a wide selection of bars and Casinos to choose from.
