More about the skiing in La Clusaz

  • So what's it like?

Charming village in an idyllic ski setting

La Clusaz is probably one of the prettiest ski villages in France. The centre has a range of boutique shops and a 200-year-old church at the centre, so there’s is plenty of character to be found. The ski area is pretty special too, and is really well suited to families and beginners, with some good pistes to get you started as well as some more challenging runs for those who are more experienced. The best news is that if you book with us, you’ll get a local lift pass included with your holiday.

La Clusaz is in the northern part of the French Alps and has an excellent snow record. There’s 130km of piste available in the local ski area of La Clusaz and a grand total of 220km if you include the neighbouring resort of Grand Bonard, which combined make the Aravis ski area. For beginners we would recommend trying out the runs located just above the resort to get in the groove and for more intermediate skiers you’ll find some more challenging red runs located over towards Les Chenons. There’s also a good selection of accommodation from low-priced self-catering through to luxury 5 star hotels.

    Ski information

    Ski Information Beginners

Nursery slopes just outside the village centre, gentle tree-lined runs served by the Beauregard gondola and the many confidence-building green and blue runs throughout the area, make La Clusaz an ideal choice for beginners.

    Ski Information Intermediates

This is an ideal resort for intermediates, with five interlinked mountains in the La Clusaz ski area. The magnificent tree skiing at Aiguille and the more difficult red runs on the Crêt du Loup are amongst the many challenges on offer or take the bus to the Grand Bornand and a further 90kms of piste.

    Ski Information Advanced

Some of the best advanced skiing in La Clusaz can be found on the Massif de la Balme and there is plenty of powder in the steep gullies of Fernuy and Borderan. The gondola from the bottom of La Balme to Côte 2000, gives easy access to the Massif de L'Aiguille.
