  • So what's it like?

    A true all round Rocky Mountain experience with a superb ski area

    This friendly frontier town is surrounded by spectacular Rockies scenery and is in the heart of nature with elk, moose and deer roaming free. The ski area of Marmot Basin, a short distance from Jasper, has uncrowded slopes, an incredible array of terrain and superb snow conditions. There is a range of dining options and welcoming bars in Jasper and we highly recommend spending a day dog sledding or snowmobiling in this charming winter wonderland.

    NEW for 2011/12:     Two new chair lifts opening for this winter: The new Paradise High Speed Quad will serve the upper area of the mountain, stretching 1,403m over the Paradise face; and the new School House Triple Chair to replace the current T-bar, making a massive improvement to the learning area for first time ski and boarders.

    Ski information

    Beginners

    Easy confidence boosting runs include Home Run, Sleepy Hollow and Bunny Hop and novice terrain is available from almost all lifts.

    Intermediates

    Intermediate skiers and boarders will revel in the wide open bowls and finely groomed runs spread throughout Marmot's 84 named trails. Try Tranquiliser off the Eagle Express high speed quad chair, Scenic Paradise from the top of Caribou Ridge or the Knob Traverse below Marmot Peak.

    Advanced

    The upper portion of the mountain opens up to large powder filled alpine bowls and long bump runs. Take the challenge of Charlie's Bowl off the Knob Chair, Eagles East off the Eagle Ridge Chair and for the bump lover, Exhibition and Milk Run.
