This bustling town has great links to the Salzburger Sportwelt
St. Johann in Pongau is located in the Ski Amadè ski area. Authentic Austrian hospitality and tradition will welcome you into the historic town with the ski area perfect for beginners and intermediates alike. There is also plenty to see and do with tobogganing, winter hiking, ice skating and wellness facilities means that there is something for everyone to enjoy. The regular ski bus just takes a few minutes to get to Alpendorf where skiing in the Salzburger Sportwelt area starts from.

Beginners
The Alpendorf ski area is an excellent destination for beginners with uncrowded, confidence building runs. Progressing on to the larger area of Salzburger Sportwelt gives you plenty of variety of runs to gently build your ability and confidence.
Intermediates
The excellent location of St. Johann makes it easy for you to explore the larger area from Alpendorf. A free bus runs every 15 minutes and fromt here you can access the Salzbuger Sportwelt which is part of the Ski Amadè. From Alpendorf there is 60km of piste or you can take the bus to nearby resorts of Flachau, Flachauwinkel, Kleninari and Zachensee opens up another 200km for you to explore.
Advanced
Visit a different part of the ski area everyday. With buses linking St. Johann to Alpendorf, Flachau, Flachauwinkel, Kleinarl and Zauchensee giving you an extra 200km of pistes means that you will have different parts of the area to ski every day.
