So what's it like?
Family-friendly skiing and a great central location in the Schneewinkel ski area
If you're a first time skier or boarder then the pretty village of Kirchdorf is a fantastic choice. There are great value First Time and Improver packages on offer. Kirchdorf is located between St. Johann and Waidring/Fieberbrunn giving great access to the other resorts that make up the 170km Schneewinkel ski area. Off the slopes there's a range of winter activities including a spa centre with indoor and outdoor pools, horse-drawn sleigh rides and tobogganing - making this a superb family choice for all ages.
Ski information
Beginners
Kirchdorf has an excellent ski school and family-friendly skiing making it a great destination if it's your first time on skis. The uncrowded, gentle nursery slopes are perfect for learning on and with the help of the patient instructors you can soon progress to the larger ski areas of St. Johann and Waidring.
Intermediates
The excellent central location of Kirchdorf makes it easy to explore the larger Schneewinkel area. A free ski bus links you to interesting and varied terrain in the resorts of St. Johann, Waidring/Steinplatte and Fieberbrunn - 170km in total.
Advanced
Covered on your Schneewinkel area pass is over 170km of piste - head for the Waidring/Steinplatte and Fieberbrunn areas for fantastic powder opportunities and a selection of steeper pistes in Fieberbrunn. Superb snowparks are in each of these resorts too - great for practising jumps and tricks. These areas are all accessed by free ski bus - and Kirchdorf is in the perfect base from which to explore them all.
