What is ATOL?
ATOL is a financial protection scheme for holidaymakers. If an ATOL-protected tour operator fails, the ATOL scheme ensures customers contracted with the ATOL-protected operator for an air package or a flight, do not lose the money paid over or are not stranded abroad.
We have always provided our customers with financial security but as of 1st October 2012 we are now governed by the Civil Airline Authority (CAA) to provide a certificate for you to take on your holiday.
From 1st October 2012 on all new bookings confirmed, TUI UK Limited will automatically provide the relevant ATOL Certificate in accordance with the Civil Airline Authority (CAA) Guidelines on ATOL Reform. The ATOL Certificate shows who and what is protected. The ATOL Certificates issued by TUI UK Limited will display the TUI UK Limited booking reference as the unique number.
If booking directly with ourselves you will receive a copy of your ATOL certificate by email (or by post if you do not have an email address) shortly after making your booking. If you are booking with one of our trade partners they will pass on your certificate.
Please ensure you take the most up-to-date certificate with you on your holidays. Your ATOL certificate will be followed by your booking invoice.
Please note: All flight inclusive packages and flight only holidays booked prior to the 1st October 2012 are still protected by the ATOL scheme, please take a copy of your booking invoice with you on holiday as confirmation of protection.
All customers travelling on a self-drive or rail package holiday with us are protected under the ABTA scheme. For more information please visits www.abta.com.
