Ski & Spa

A thermal spa is a wonderful place to relax after a day on the slopes! Traditional spa resorts were originally built as health spas using natural thermal spring water to cure illness. Now many are being redeveloped to offer you wonderful facilities in which to relax. Forget doctors in white coats. In their place you will find delightful spa treatments designed to relax, rejuventate and revitalise

Spa resorts

The following resorts are thermal spa resorts with excellent ski areas and wonderful resort spa facilities open to everyone:

  • Felsenbad Bad Gastein

    Bad Gastein, Austria

In the centre of Bad Gastein you will find the Felsenbad thermal spa centre. Famous for the thermal waters hidden within it's mountains - people have been attracted here to bathe in these 'healing' waters for hundreds of years. The current 'spa' centre was renovated in 2004 and now offers state-of-the-art leisure facilities. The 'Felsenbad' has an indoor activity area with pools, flumes and a children's area. There is also a panoramic spa area with saunas, steam rooms, massage and facials. Outdoors there is a sport pool (24 degrees) and relaxation thermal pool (34 degrees), not to mention the 'Fairytale Pool' with interactive fairytale characters!

  • Alpentherme thermal spa Bad Hofgastein

    Bad Hofgastein, Austria

Bad Hofgastein's 'Alpen Therme' thermal spa centre has something for everyone and is particularly famous for the thermal waters hidden within it's mountains. Divided into six worlds of spa heaven: spa beauty treatments, indoor and outdoor thermal pools', saunas and steam rooms', relaxation rooms', a separate 'Family World' and much, much more.

Spa hotels

You will also find that more and more hotels are developing their own spa facilities. They may not be thermal spas but you will find many of the same spa and beauty treatments plus saunas, steam rooms and pools. Here is one of the best:
