Intro

Vail is one of the world's top ski resorts with superb accommodation and an attractive alpine style village centre with a fabulous après ski atmosphere. It is also the largest single mountain ski area in America, stretching 7 miles from east to west and caters for everyone, with smooth groomed runs through to challenging cornices and off piste back bowls. The newly redeveloped Lionshead area of Vail is located at the base of the gondola with its own great selection of bars, shops, restaurants and an ice skating rink.

Beginners are excellently catered for, with a superb ski school, convenient lifts immediately behind the village, and plenty of long, wide-open, gentle runs right from the top of the mountain.

With 5,174 acres of incredible skiing, you can choose from miles of prepared pistes and superb groomed runs to the world famous Back Bowls. Colorado powder snow is so light that intermediates can enjoy most runs. Make sure to try the 'Blue Sky Basin'.

Double black diamond runs like Goshawk and Peregrine will really test the best. Revel in the glory of the acres of virgin powder snow in no less than six massive Back Bowls, plus mile upon mile of mogul fields, creating the perfect skiing experience.

Freeriders are spoilt for choice, with powder filled back bowls and the glades for intermediate/ advanced riders. Golden Peak is the domain of the freestyler with both expert and beginner pipes and numerous kickers.
