Resort Information

Largely unknown to British skiers, Engelberg is one of Switzerland's best kept secrets. At the end of an open sunny valley and dominated by the impressive 3,200m Mount Titlis, it is a large and friendly traditional village. The world's first revolving cable car provides a unique way to view the varied terrain as you travel to the guaranteed snow on the glacier 2kms above the village. There is plenty of skiing for all levels on the uncrowded slopes and the area offers superb off-piste skiing.

There are some excellent bars and pubs, some with live music; the infamous Yucatan Music Bar, the Eden Bar, the Spindle and Terrasse.

Family choice

Engelberg is a great resort for families. The Swiss ski school provides lessons and supervision for children aged 3 to 12 with specially adapted lifts and nursery slopes. There is also a kindergarten at no extra charge when the lessons are finished and Kid's Club on the Brunni is hugely popular. The Tourist Office can arrange childcare for non-skiing kids.
