the exhilarating skiing of the Dolomites and an unmistakable Italian atmosphere
The beautiful broad sunny Val di Fassa is one of the treasures of the spectacular Dolomites area of north-east Italy. Arguably the most beautiful mountain range in Europe, and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009, the pink and orange hues of the craggy peaks change colour from daybreak to twilight. We feature the main villages of the valley, Canazei, Campitello and Pozza.
Plenty of jolly, unpretentious bars, where the atmosphere is always cheerful and convivial · The Stua dei Ladins, Montanara Bar, Giardino delle Rose and Lieber Augustin.
· Swimming pool (Canazei) · Ice skating (Alba) · Wellness centre (Alba) · Bowling (Alba) · Cross-country skiing · Night skiing (Pozza di Fassa) · Snowshoe walking · Paragliding · Ice hockey matches (Alba)
Good choice of cafés, pizzerias and restaurants, most at extremely reasonable prices · Pizzas from approx. 5 · 3-course dinners from approx. 16 · In Canazei the Kaiserstube, Pizzeria Italia, La Stalla, El Pael or El Cervena.
· Charming shops and cafés · Cleared footpaths with beautiful walks · Ice hockey matches (Alba).
Val di Fassa is an ideal choice for families. Chalet Violetta houses our Pepi Penguin Club for children aged 6 months to 4 years and the Whizz Kids Club for children aged 4 to 11 years. Our Pepi Penguin Crèche and Whizz Kids Club are available to guests staying in Canazei. Please note some accommodations are located up to a 20 minute walk away from the Violetta.

Novices at Canazei can start on the village slope before taking the Belvedere gondola to the wide, undulating runs at Pecol. Campitello has one beginners' run at village level and at the top of the Col Rodella cable car several blue runs.
From Canazei and Campitello there is direct access to the famous Sella Ronda. This 26kms route encircles the Sella Massif and can be used to ski the extensive areas of Arabba, Corvara, Colfosco and Val Gardena.
The main challenge for experts will be to put as much mileage as possible under their skis. Try the run under the cable car at Alba or the Men's Downhill runs in Val Gardena and La Villa. The north facing slopes at nearby Arabba provide some of the most challenging skiing in the Dolomites.
This is a huge area offering some superb, varied terrain. After cruising the famous Sella Ronda you can head for the snowboard park above Canazei in the Belvedere area.
