Milky Way skiing at a great price
Sansicario is a little known pearl of the Italian Milky Way. Situated at the centre of a huge natural bowl between the larger resorts of Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere, Sansicario was home to a number of events at the 2006 Winter Olympics, including the women's downhill. The traffic-free village is safe and relaxing making it an ideal choice for families.
A few bars in town including the Action Café. Après scene is quiet with most entertainment centered around the hotels.
• Evening excusions to watch Juventus or Milan football matches • Snowblades • Torchlit skiing • Wine tasting
A few excellent restaurants located in the village serving some of the best traditional and Italian cuisine around.

The Baby Sansicario chairlift takes beginners up to the top of a couple of gentle blues and with guidance from the excellent ski school first time skiers are soon progressing to the higher slopes.
Some long and challenging red runs can be found in Sansicario. Intermediates may want to try their hand at the Olympic run or take the new bubble over to Sestriere to access some of the more challenging slopes on offer.
Sansicario offers some good off-piste to satisfy the experts, but more challenging terrain can be found at the top of Motta and Sises in Sestriere or the Moncrons area in Sauze.
The long and wide runs of the Milky Way provide the perfect setting for days of cruising and the challenging blacks of Sestriere and Borgata really get the adrenaline pumping! The snowboard park in Sestriere is great for trying out some new tricks and even beginners will be satisfied with a small selection of slopes suitable for practising those turns.
