Resort Information
Avoriaz and Morzine are in the fabulous Portes du Soleil ski area, with an enormous 650kms of high altitude slopes in France and Switzerland. Avoriaz, characterised by its bold, modern architecture, is entirely traffic free and offers doorstep skiing and first class snow. Morzine is a picturesque old-style Savoyard town with an unspoilt centre with plenty of character, charm and excellent après ski facilities.

A vast selection of restaurants from value for money bistros and pizzerias to top quality gourmet establishments. Avoriaz: Le Bistro for à la carte and Savoyard specialities, Les Fontaines Blanches for French cuisine and La Boule de Neige for great value pizzas. Morzine: Le Grillon, Hotel les Airelles, Le Clin d'Oeil and La Chamade.
Family choice
Annie Famose's ski kindergarten is located in the centre of town. It takes children from the age of 3 and uses original ways of teaching skiing based on games, actions and instincts. Younger children stay within the village snow garden whereas older children are taken out onto the slopes. There is also a crèche called 'Les Petits Loups' for young children from 3 months to 5 years (vaccination certificate necessary). Open 0900-1800, approx. €35 per day and €5 for lunch. Please call the Family Hotline 0871 971 0457 (Call charges apply).Morzine is an excellent resort for families. The French Halte-Garderie L'Outa crèche in the town centre, is for 3 to 6 year olds and is open from Sun-Fri 0900-1330 and 1330-1730 (excl. Feb) during Feb opening hours are 0830-1230 and 1330-1730 There is indoor and outdoor games and optional one hour ski lessons each day. Cost approx. €166 for 6 fdays or €95 for 6 half days. Lunch for 2 years and upwards is €5.50 per day and for children under 2 is €2.50 per day. Parents must supply their children's health book and a deposit is necessary to make a reservation. The Piou Piou Club is run by the ski school and is open Sun-Fri 0900-1700 (lunch 1200-1400). There is a Snow Garden for ski tuition and an indoor and outdoor playing area for non skiers.
