some of the best snow in the Milky Way region
Montgenèvre is situated on the Italian border and linked to the Milky Way ski area with 400km of pistes and an excellent snow record. Particularly well suited for beginner and intermediate skiers you will find convenient nursery slopes and an abundance of cruising terrain. More experienced skiers can take a daily upgrade covering pistes in the whole Milky Way area. The village centre has retained its charm with many local restaurants, French-style buildings and traditional bars.

Beginners are very well catered for on the gentle nursery slopes at village level. There are wide open pistes and a good selection of green runs to help you get started.
Intermediate skiers are spoilt for choice in the Montgenèvre ski area. Popular descents include the wide pistes down from Les Anges and Le Querelay and the long red run from Le Chalvet at 2,680m.
Extensions to the lift pass covering different sections of the Milky Way (with over 400km of piste) can be purchased locally. Why not ski over to Italy down the black run into Cesana Torinese for lunch? Montgenèvre itself offers some exciting off-piste descents and bump runs especially in the Col de l'Alpet area.
The huge Milky Way circuit offers over 400km of rideable terrain. Freeriders will enjoy the powder in the Le Chalvet bowl, and freestylers have loads of natural terrain to launch off as well as an ultra-modern snowpark. Beginners are also spoilt for choice with plenty of blues and greens.
