Les Arcs ski resort is located in the heart of the Tarentaise valley, it offers modern accommodation and some awe-inspiring skiing. Slopes vary from wooded runs in the villages of Villaroger and Peisey-Vallandry to high altitude skiing on the Aiguille Rouge glacier. Your skiing opportunities do not end in Les Arc, by using the double-decker Vanoise Express cable car you can explore the whole of La Plagne, this massive skiing area is aptly named Paradiski and offers 425km of pistes! Our accommodation is found in 5 villages: Arc 1800 with its lively atmosphere and excellent access to the slopes, Arc 2000 with skiing to and from the doorstep, Arc 1600 with its village atmosphere, newly built but traditionally styled Arc 1950 and Peisey-Vallandry, closest to La Plagne giving speedy access to the whole of Paradiski.

The experience

Les Arcs Après Ski

· Live music in the Red Hot Saloon in 1800, and Chalet Luigi in 1950, where all the main sporting events are screened. Try El Latino Loco in 2000 for a lively, informal atmosphere and more live music. Discos include the Apokalypse in 1800 the KL92 in Arc 2000 and Luigi's in 1950.

Scenic Helicopter Flight
For breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps and for a truely magical experience, pre-book a scenic helicopter flight. The flights will take you from Les Arcs giving you the opportuntiy to take in a birds eye view of the ski area, its peaks and if you so decide the towering Mont Blanc. The flight choices are: Les Arc valley 8min £34, Paradski valleys 15min £60, Mont Blanc flight 30 min £119.
Olympic Bobsleigh
Experience the thrill of a lifetime with a ride on the Olympic bobsleigh run! Close to Les Arc and just below the resorts of La Plagne the bobsleigh track is a short bus ride away (transport is included in cost). You will have the choice of various Bobs to carry you down the track, from the speed controlled Bob Raft with a max speed of 80kph to the positivley spine tingling Taxi Bob reaching speeds of 100kph. Prices start from £40pp, the track is open from mid-Dec to 12th March 2010.

The slopes

Beginners

Home of the famous 'Ski Evolutif' teaching method (mini-skis for learning to start, stop and turn), Les Arcs is a great choice for beginners.

Intermediates

The Paradiski Area is brilliant for intermediates. Runs include tree-lined descents into Pèisey Nancroix and Vallandry and a multitude of interlinked blue and red runs.

Advanced

(Crystal rating 4)

Ski the breathtaking 7km black Aiguille Rouge right the way down into Villaroger (Europe's biggest vertical drop of 2000m!), pound the moguls of Dou de l'Homme or take the new Vanoise Express lift, which carrys 200 people over to La Plagne and return off-piste through the imposing Nancroix forest.

Snowboarding

Les Arcs has a superb board park with boarder cross, kickers, spines, rails and boxes. There are also many natural hits to play on in the Clocheret area. The pistes are wide and rolling offering the perfect environment for all styles of riding and there is abundant terrain for beginners to progress on all week.
