charming village in an idyllic ski setting

La Clusaz is a charming old Savoyard village and is one of the prettiest, most established ski resorts in the Alps. La Clusaz ski resort never fails to win over visitors with its traditional village feel, genuine sense of community and great selection of bars, shops and restaurants. There is a superb variety of skiing in the La Clusaz area. For beginners there are some good nursery slopes just above the resort centre and a sunny plateau to hone your skills on the top of the Beaurgard mountain. For intermediates and advanced skiers there are some excellent reds and some good challenging blacks, for one of the best mountain views of the Alpes, head to the top of La Balme. For a further 90km of piste head to Grand Bornand, the linking ski bus is included on the Aravis area lift pass.

The slopes

Beginners

(Crystal rating 5)

Nursery slopes just outside the village centre, gentle tree-lined runs served by the Beauregard gondola and the many confidence-building green and blue runs throughout the area, make La Clusaz an ideal choice for beginners.

Intermediates

(Crystal rating 4)

This is an ideal resort for intermediates, with five interlinked mountains in the La Clusaz ski area. The magnificent tree skiing at Aiguille and the more difficult red runs on the Crêt du Loup are amongst the many challenges on offer or take the bus to the Grand Bornand and a further 90kms of piste.

Advanced

(Crystal rating 3)

Some of the best advanced skiing in La Clusaz can be found on the Massif de la Balme and there is plenty of powder in the steep gullies of Fernuy and Borderan. The gondola from the bottom of La Balme to Côte 2000, gives easy access to the Massif de L'Aiguille.

Snowboarding

(Crystal rating 4)

La Clusaz has some excellent riding for beginner to expert boarders. Freeriders will find plenty of back country terrain to explore and should head for the Massif de la Balme, a stunning natural playground with huge powder bowls, jumps and drops. Freestylers can test their skills in the snow park and halfpipe.
