Chamonix is famous for its challenging skiing and off-piste terrain, so if you are looking for an exhilarating week then Chamonix ski resort is the perfect choice. The king of freeride resorts you will find runs that are steep, high and long as well as the famous Vallée Blanche glacier run with its dramatic scenery. For the less adventurous there is a good mix of intermediate skiing and some nursery slopes either side of the resort. Off the slopes Chamonix is a vibrant town with a lively atmosphere and an excellent nightlife. As an established mountain town you will find a full range of bars, restaurants, pavement cafés and shops for your entertainment.

Les Planards and the Savoy area at the foot of the Brevent area, are popular for gentle nursery slopes within easy reach of Chamonix.

Intermediates

The Chamonix valley offers an amazing 150kms of pistes available divided into 4 areas, all linked by an efficient bus service, (FREE with your lift pass) with an excellent range of testing high altitude blue and red runs, and the Grands Montets glacier with unbeatable snow. The Vallée Blanche descent, usually open all season, is skied with a guide, provides 24kms of unforgettable skiing in stunning scenery.

Expert skiers will just love the incomparable slopes and challenging range of skiing. Chamonix is the undisputed off-piste capital of Europe with some quite extraordinary experiences awaiting you on the Mont Blanc Massif. (NB: Services of a local guide are essential).

Children: Ski 3-12 years, board 8-12 years at the Panda Club (EV2) 0830-1200 or 0830-1700. Times include travelling time to the club which is in Argentière. (ESF) deps 19/12-30/01 1000-1200 or 1430-1630 all other deps 2.5hrs.

Off-Piste

Chamonix is a resort for adventurous skiers, and the perfect place to work on improving your off-piste skills or technique on steep slopes. Evolution 2 offer 2 superb courses:

All Mountain (Mon-Thur 9-12.00am & Fri all day - £197)
An ideal choice for good skiers who have done some off-piste, but would like to master the technique! 4 half days tuition in small groups (max 8) culminating in a full day guiding, usually on the Vallée Blanche.

Piste perfection (Mon & Tue full days - £178)
A course specially designed for intermediate skiers looking to develop some advanced techniques. You will concentrate on technique & posture on steep slopes, and look at skills required for off-piste skiing. Small groups (max 6) and intensive tuition for 2 full days.
