Intro

Borovets is perfect for beginners looking for a great value first time skiing experience. The excellent ski school includes 4 hours tuition per day so you can make the most of your time on the slopes. The resort also has lot of lively bars and discos with drinks at bargain prices, making it an excellent choice for groups and couples looking to enjoy the après skiing as much as the learning to ski.

· Borovets is well known for its bars, ranging from a traditional inn with a log fire, to one of the numerous busy bars with loud music and dancing · Black Tiger · Buzz Bar · night clubs (at Hotels Samokov and Rila)

Eating out in Borovets

· 3-course evening meal approx. £11. There are Bulgarian evenings with local cuisine and folklore in addition to restaurants such as The Happy Duck, Franco's Pizza and Mama Cita's.

Family choice advert

Hotel Rila offer their own independent kindergarten. Local charge is approx. 262 Leva (approx. £95) per child (facilities are limited). Located within the hotel building, the Kindergarten is for children from 12 months-7 years old inclusive, (12 months-3 years) are cared for by the nannies based in the hotel, (4-7yrs. some daily ski tuition also included).

Great for beginners, with a high standard of English speaking instruction and gentle nursery slopes, just beside the Rila Complex and three minutes' walk from the Samokov.

Ski Information Intermediates

Borovets is a good resort for intermediates, with a variety of runs. The well-planned lift system includes the six-person Yastrebets gondola.

Ski Information Advanced

For the expert skier there is the testing World Cup run, one of the more challenging pistes in the Yastrebets area or the excellent skiing through the trees and off-piste.

Borovets is one of the best rideable areas in Bulgaria, with plenty of varied terrain, open pistes, some fun lines through the trees and a half-pipe at Rotata.
