Skiing

Beginners

Our ski school in Sölden makes sure beginners get the best start on their gentle nursery slopes at the top of the Giggijoch gondola. You then progress up into the bowl of slopes around Giggijoch with plenty of blue runs on which to further develop your skills.

Intermediates

The majority of this area is great for intermediate skiers. Modern lifts and the expansive network of pistes take you from Sölden, through the "Golden Gate to the Glacier" lifts to the two glaciers. If you like a challenge, tackle the "Big 3 Tour", taking you to Schwarze Schneide (3,340m), Tiefenbachkogel (3,249m) and Gaislachkogel (3,058m).

Advanced

With 28km of black runs, high mountains offering excellent off piste conditions and the challenging 6km Rettenbach Valley ski route, advanced skiers will find plenty to challenge them.  Alternatively, if you like freestyle, search out to the BASE park with all it's attractions.

Snowboarding

The 6 hectare BASE Park has a range of kickers, corners, tables, half pipes and rails. There's also a chill area with music and a separate kids' park. Head to the Gaislachkogel for the best freeride terrain in the area - its well known for its steep runs and gnarly chutes. If you're just learning the ropes, try the gentle open runs on the Giggijoch. The Rettenbach Glacier often has the best snow on the mountain with some great powder close to the lifts. The Tiefenbach Glacier has longer, more gentle runs. If heading to either Glacier, beware of crevasses and we'd recommend hiring a guide.
