high altitude skiing in a party atmosphere
Glacier skiing is literally the tip of the iceberg with this resort. Sölden's ski area centres around three main peaks, each over 3,000m in height, giving you some fantastic snow conditions. Take on the challenge of the 'Big 3 Rally' - a 50km signed tour of the pistes that will take you to all three peaks. Sölden is also renowned as a snowboard mecca and has a very lively nightlife with numerous bars and clubs to keep you entertained into the early hours. Combine all this together and Sölden has the ingredients for a superb holiday!
Sölden has a lively atmosphere and a wealth of après ski bars and nighclubs. Some to try: • Almrausch • Fire & Ice • Harley's Rock Bar • Joker • Snow Rock Café • Skilights • Schirmbar • Mirage • Kuhstall...to name but a few! • Annual Gay Week (20th-27th March)
• 5km toboggan run • Sleigh rides • Ice skating • Curling • 30km of cleared winter walking paths • Paragliding • Sölden "Freizeit Arena" with adventure pool, saunas, steam rooms and indoor tennis • Aquadome Spa in Längefeld (bus from Sölden)
On the mountain you'll find a mix of restaurants, many in traditional Tirolean style and offering local specialities. If you choose to eat out in Sölden of an evening you can choose between local and international menus. Some to try: • Saitensprung (incl. fondue) • s'pfandl • Mangia Bene • Hacienda • Mounty Burger • Wine & Dine

Located in the heart of Sölden, the Freizeit Arena is a multi-functional leisure and recreation centre with lots to offer. The indoor adventure pool and separate children's pool, both with water slide are great fun for the whole family and there's also a play corner for small children. Alternatively relax and unwind with massage jets or head to the Ötztal Sauna with sauna parlour, authentic log cabin sauna, steam room, sanarium and tepidarium (hot stone plates). You can also top up your tan in the tanning studio or the more active can head to the fitness centre or have a game of indoor tennis or bowling.
FREE entrance to the indoor pool area is offered to guests staying at the Hotel Erhart and Hotel Valentin.

Our ski school in Sölden makes sure beginners get the best start on their gentle nursery slopes at the top of the Giggijoch gondola. You then progress up into the bowl of slopes around Giggijoch with plenty of blue runs on which to further develop your skills.
The majority of this area is great for intermediate skiers. Modern lifts and the expansive network of pistes take you from Sölden, through the "Golden Gate to the Glacier" lifts to the two glaciers. If you like a challenge, tackle the "Big 3 Tour", taking you to Schwarze Schneide (3,340m), Tiefenbachkogel (3,249m) and Gaislachkogel (3,058m).
With 28km of black runs, high mountains offering excellent off piste conditions and the challenging 6km Rettenbach Valley ski route, advanced skiers will find plenty to challenge them. Alternatively, if you like freestyle, search out to the BASE park with all it's attractions.
The 6 hectare BASE Park has a range of kickers, corners, tables, half pipes and rails. There's also a chill area with music and a separate kids' park. Head to the Gaislachkogel for the best freeride terrain in the area - its well known for its steep runs and gnarly chutes. If you're just learning the ropes, try the gentle open runs on the Giggijoch. The Rettenbach Glacier often has the best snow on the mountain with some great powder close to the lifts. The Tiefenbach Glacier has longer, more gentle runs. If heading to either Glacier, beware of crevasses and we'd recommend hiring a guide.
