Niederau is one of the top resorts for learning to ski, with a high standard of instruction and a wide variety of beginner runs just on the edge of the village.
There are plenty of challenging runs for the intermediate skier, try the long Märchenwiesen red run back into the valley or take the free ski but for a day out in Auffach and a wide choice of reds. If you are looking for a challenge try the Gipfel black run down from 1600m at the Lanerköpfl.
Better suited to beginner and intermediate skiers Niederau can still offer the advanced skier some exciting off-piste skiing. Try the black ski routes down from Markbachjoch or hire a local guide from the ski school for the day to really find your way around.
Niederau is a great place to learn to board with gentle blues and excellent tuition. For competent boarders there is a big fun park in Auffach with rails, a 90m long halfpipe, pro-jump and more. Also try the Race 'n' Boarder Arena in Niederau. Used by the Austrian National Ski Team you'll find a carving zone, boarder cross and slalom lane!
