Neukirchen is a pretty, alpine village, nestled amongst the stunning scenery of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The 'Wildkogel' ski area has a north-facing bowl with an excellent snow record and wonderful wide, open runs. There is all-day childcare for children from 2.5 years old, and a team of top ski and snowboard instructors. Neukirchen also has an alliance with nearby Zillertal/Gerlos, so you can choose an upgraded lift pass and ski there too!

The experience

Neukirchen Après Ski

There are a number of nice cafés and a variety of bars in the village, many of them are part of the resort's hotels. Try · Schirmbar · Almbar. For those looking to dance until the early hours there is also a nightclub - the 'Music Box'.

Family choice

The 'Kogel-Mogel' kindergarten in Neukirchen provides excellent entertainment for non-skiing children from 2.5yrs to 5yrs incl with a mix of indoor & outdoor play. Children aged 3-5yrs can also choose to mix half days in ski school with half days in kindergarten. The kindergarten is pre-bookable.

Neukirchen has a gentle beginner area in the village and a children's beginner area at the top of the Wildkogel gondola. There are also plenty of wide, open blue runs on which to further develop your skills as the week progresses.

Intermediates

The 'Wildkogel' ski area is a north-facing bowl which is reknown for good snow conditions. There are a good selection of blue and red runs to enjoy, and at the end of the day you can ski all the way back to the village.

Advanced

For advanced skiers Neukirchen is a great base from which to explore the area - not only Neukirchen's 'Wildkogel' but you can also choose to upgrade your lift pass to include Gerlos too (part of the Mayrhofen/Zillertal Arena; FREE ski bus)! Alternatively hire a guide to go off-piste ski touring - leave the pistes behind and make the most of this stunning landscape!

Snowboarding

The area is great for learning to board, with lots of wide, gentle terrain. There is also a 'Boarder Cross' area, and up at Gerlos you will find two half pipes and a fun park on which to enjoy some freestyle action.
