This small guesthouse looks deceptively traditional from the outside, nestled on the hillside close to the chairlift (to the small Gerlossteinwand ski area) in the village of Ramsau. During summer 2007 the Pension Christoph was almost completely renovated in the contemporary style favoured by its owners. Rooms are individually decorated in a variety of colours and styles (have a look through the photos to see a couple of examples - if you've any colour preference, let us know when you book and we'll do what we can!), with wooden floors and LCD TVs. A stylish bar has also been added.

Accommodation is on bed & breakfast basis and breakfast is taken in the guesthouse's breakfast room. Some people prefer to do their own thing for dinner, perhaps opting to head down to Mayrhofen after skiing to enjoy some après ski and dinner in one of the many restaurants (a taxi back to Ramsau in the evening will cost about €12 total, for up to 8 people). If you'd rather eat dinner near the guesthouse, there are a few restaurants in Ramsau and we have arranged a dinner option (which you can pre-book) at the Gasthof Tipotsch, a traditional guesthouse offering a traditional menu. The dinner option includes a return shuttle to and from the restaurant to save you having to walk back up the hill.

During the day the ski bus stops a couple of minutes' walk from the Christoph and takes you across Ramsau to the Horbergbahn lift in the village of Schwendau. This lift is a gondola that takes you up into the heart of Mayrhofen's Penken ski area. For this holiday you can pre-book your lift pass (they are Mayrhofen ski area passes) but you cannot pre-book equipment or tuition. On your first day equipment can be hired from the Fankhauser hire shop (en route to the gondola) and tuition is available from the 1.Ski-und Snowboardschule Fankhauser ski school, based beside the gondola. Storage is available at the gondola station so you can store your equipment during the week rather than carrying it to and from the guesthouse.

From the Horbergbahn, a ski bus runs regularly to and from the Penken lift in the middle of Mayrhofen between 08.30 and 17.00 daily.

The Pension Christoph is a great option for those who want to enjoy the fantastic Mayrhofen ski area whilst paying less than if you booked the equivalent accommodation in Mayrhofen itself. You have the convenience of a small ski area near the guesthouse plus easy access by ski bus to the Mayrhofen ski area, and if you want to enjoy the facilities and nightlife of Mayrhofen they are just a short taxi ride away.
