Ski & Spa

What better way to soothe those tired muscles than by relaxing in a warm thermal pool while looking up at the snowcovered mountains? Bad Gastein is famous for the thermal waters hidden within it's mountains - people have been attracted here to bathe in these 'healing' waters for hundreds of years. The current 'spa' centre was renovated in 2004 and now offers state-of-the-art leisure facilities.
'Felsenbad'
The 'Felsenbad' has an indoor activity area with pools, flumes and a children's area. There is also a panoramic spa area with saunas, steam rooms, massage and facials. Outdoors there is a sport pool (24 degrees) and relaxation thermal pool (34 degrees), not to mention the 'Fairytale Pool' with interactive fairytale characters!
Both spa centres are open daily from 10.00am-10.00pm. A variety of entrance tickets are available, incl:

The slopes

Beginners

(Crystal rating 2)

In Bad Gastein the nursery slopes are next to the main gondola. From the nursery slopes beginners can progress on to blue runs on the Stubnerkogel.

Intermediates

(Crystal rating 4)

This is ski-your-heart-out country! Bad Gastein offers a wide variety of red and blue runs, linked with nearby Bad Hof Gastein to make one large area. The Gastein valley has a further 3 ski areas, offering total of 250kms of well groomed, often quiet, pistes. Buses and trains link the areas, and are covered by your lift pass.

Advanced

(Crystal rating 3)

There are also some testing runs on the Stubnerkogel and a couple of nice blacks on the Graukogel. The off-piste can be fantastic too - why not hire a guide and head to the spectacular off-piste route from Kreuzkogel to Heilstollen, or sign up for an off-piste safari or touring day with the ski school.

Snowboarding

(Crystal rating 3)

The resort forms part of one of Austria's largest rideable areas with over 100 miles of piste. For freestylers there is a well maintained half-pipe and snowboard park to keep you happy and plenty of natural hits around.
